Car hire in the UK during the transition period
The United Kingdom left the European Union on 31 January 2020 and entered a transition (or “implementation”) period until 31 December 2020, while the UK Government and the EU negotiate additional arrangements.
During the transition, there are no changes for customers renting a car in the United Kingdom and no additional paperwork is required. If your car hire booking extends beyond 31 December 2020 please check this page again as your collection date approaches; we will be able to advise if negotiations have resulted in changes to legal requirements.

No. Visitors with EU driving licences will not need an IDP to drive in the UK.
